US Presidential Inauguration Special: Americana cocktail

In today’s special, we honour the new US President Biden, the First Lady, Vice-President Harris and the Second Gentleman.

We do so with an Americana cocktail.

Ingredients

1 sugar cube (we prefer a demerara sugar cube)

Angostura bitters

15 ml bourbon

Brut Champagne

Method

Coat the sugar cube well with the Angostura bitters - approximately 4 dashes. Drop the sugar cube into a flute.

Pour the bourbon over the sugar. Top up with the Champagne.

Garnish with an orange or peach slice - or leave the drink to do the talking and leave it naked.
