Millionaire's Martini cocktail

It's the first Saturday of the month again, so time for another bubbles-based cocktail. 

In the UK, we are starting to ease our way out of COVID-19 lockdown #3; to some people, this feels like winning the lottery.  Well, we haven't won the EuroMillions (yet!) but we can make ourselves an appropriate cocktail to celebrate.

Ingredients

40 ml London dry gin

40 ml dry vermouth

20 ml dry champagne

Lemon twist

Method

Place the first two ingredients into a mixing glass and stir over ice for 25-30 seconds.

Double strain into a coupe and top with the champagne.  Garnish with the lemon twist.

If you're raising an eyebrow after reading the ingredients and concluding 'I don't enjoy fifty-fifty martinis. . .', then taste it and see what the addition of the champagne does to it.  And realise that now both your eyebrows are raised. . .
